Directions: Use as a shampoo bar, body bar or shaving soap. Wet hair/body and lather up (rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar as needed for hair)

Whether you realize it or not, your commercial liquid shampoos and conditioners contain synthetic silicones and silica (sand) that coat your hair, to make it "feel" nice, but leaves a chemical residue in your hair. Synthetic silicones are derived from polymers which are soft, plastic, gel-like substances, are hard to remove from your hair and scalp. The detergent shampoos with loads of SLS are also very good at stripping EVERYTHING (even those natural oils we want).

Before you start using shampoo bars (freeing yourself from unwanted chemicals at scalp level) we suggest using a Baking Soda Clarifying Rinse by adding 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 cup warm water.

OR a Vinegar Rinse. Plain white vinegar will work just fine. Apple Cider Vinegar - ACV - seems to be the favorite hair care vinegar. We suggest using 1 part ACV to 3 parts warm water. Work it into your scalp and let it sit for a moment. This is working on removing the residue from your former chemical life. Rinse, rinse, rinse.

You need to give the shampoo bars about a week to rid your hair of the old residues from your commercial shampoo. During this process your hair may feel stiff or sticky - Don't give up! Work with the rinses listed above in the transition process - it's worth the effort.

Because shampoo bar soaps do not strip hair in the same way as detergent based shampoos, you may notice your wet hair feeling different after washing than you may be accustomed. This is perfectly normal, you'll love how your hair feels after it dries.

Occasionally, while using the shampoo soap, you will want to rinse with the ACV recipe above. It will condition and leave your hair naturally clean and manageable. The smell of the vinegar won't last - don't worry.

The key to success is rinse, rinse and rinse.

  1. Rosemary Peppermint

Posted by NyZ on 2nd Jan 2012

I love how my hair feels after shampooing using tis bar. It is really soft after it dries up. I will continue this product for my hair but I do some questions:

    1) Do I still have to use conditioner after shampooing?

    2) Is it really suitable for body? I've used it on my body but I found that it makes my body kind of dry & more itchy (as I have eczema type of skin).

  2. Not a bad item to use so far

Posted by hoe on 5th Nov 2011

I bought the tea tree/peppermint soap and use it immediately and have been using it for 4 days.. The initial feeling on the hair is that the hair is squiky clean n thus, the shampoo seem too drying... But when the hair start drying after bath, my hair roots feel relatively soft (I did use conditional but only around the end).. Will continue to use to see more effects...

  3. Great multi purpose soap

I bought coconut milk and citrus. Both smell great. Lather very well. They gave my hair more 'body'. Even used them to wash my face...clean but non drying. Great multi purpose soap. Will definitely try the other scents in the future
